IS YOUR WATER HEATER READY FOR WINTER?

Fall is upon us and soon temperatures will begin dropping. While this will be a nice break for us and our air conditioners it means that our water heaters will being to work overtime. As cooler temperatures settle in the ground temperature and water temps will follow. Colder water entering your water heater means the heater will run longer, more expansion is created and your heater will be stress tested.

Here are a couple tips to make it through winter without losing hot water or flooding your basement.

1.) Buy a water alarm. Water alarms are inexpensive devices to set next to the water heater to alert you of a problem. You can buy one here : https://amzn.to/3LyGJCd

2.)Buy a quick dam product. Quick dam lays flat around your water heater and if it decides to leak it expands and soaks up the water. You can buy one here: https://amzn.to/3fdgcOA

3.) Check water heater age and condition. If your heater is more than 15 years old , chances are it is on borrowed time. Inspect carefully for visual leakage.

4.) Call a professional. We offer water heater inspections for $49. We check all functions and report any issues we find to you and present you with options to repair your system. Call us at 540-222-1498 or send us a email !
